The annual Barry Sheene Festival of Speed race meeting will take place on the 2010 Easter Long Weekend from Friday April 2nd through to Sunday April 4th at Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway. Over 250 riders on over 300 bikes will contest the event to celebrate the life of Barry Sheene a motorcycling legend of the 70's & 80's. Other activities over the weekend include the Legends Parade Lap, the Show 'n' Shine & Trade/Club displays.
Historic and Pre-Modern Racing
With over 250 competitors and 300 bikes competing there'll be close and action packed racing all the way through the field. Period 3 Classic (1946 - 1962), Period 4 Post Classic (1963 - 1972), Period 5 Forgotten Era (1973 - 1980), New Era (1981 - 1989), Pre Modern (1990 - 1995) and Sidecars will represent over 60 years of motorcycle racing from hand shift Indians up to the chest thumping beasts of the Forgotten Era class through to the Superbikes of the 80s and 90s with exotic two stroke GP machinery scattered in between
The Festival of Speed
The Barry Sheene Festival of Speed is much more than just a motorcycle race. It's a celebration of the life of Barry Sheene and the spirit of motorcycling. Warwick Nowland, 2 times World Endurance Champion, Robbie Phillis and other stars from years gone by will be in attendance at the event. There'll be many more attractions over the weekend.
